Steve and I rode hard for under six hours, definitely my fastest century ever. With only 5,200 feet of climbing, this one was relatively light on the elevation gain compared to my other rides. But it was a tough day out there thanks to how hard Steve pushed us. I originally thought I’d be doing it on my own but on the way down Steve suggested we register as a two-man team. That was a great idea since it was windy out there and we were able to paceline. Having a couple more riders would have been even better, maybe next year. I don’t know why they call this a Mega Monster but we worked monstrously hard out there. I was wiped out at the end.
